Here is a collection of stories happening across the country, displaying the state of the economy, the heartbeat of American culture, and the craziness of modern-day politics…

1) Harris mocked for taking less than 2 minutes of questions after 18 days

From Fox News: Vice President Kamala Harris was blasted for spending less than two minutes taking questions from reporters Thursday after being criticized for going 18 days without speaking to the media. The vice president answered a handful of questions on the airport tarmac while campaigning in Michigan, after former President Trump had held a lengthy news conference earlier in the afternoon.

One reporter asked Harris to respond to criticism regarding how she has not given an interview or a formal press conference since she became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

“I’ve talked to my team. I want us to get an interview scheduled before the end of the month,” Harris answered.

Conservative X users were bemused by what they considered “crumbs” and “softballs” from the media, as well as Harris’ vague commitment to schedule an interview by “the end of the month.”

2) ‘Absolutely Not’: Retired Border Patrol Chief Says Kamala Harris Never Once Spoke With Him About Border Crisis

From Daily Caller: A retired Border Patrol chief confirmed on Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris never spoke to him, even after she was tasked to lead a major facet of the immigration crisis.

Retired Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott, who led the agency during the last year of the Trump administration and roughly the first seven months of the Biden administration, said policy brief meetings with the White House dwindled down to zero the moment the current administration came into power. The lack of communication continued even after Harris was appointed by the White House to address the “root causes” of illegal immigration Central America.

“Absolutely not,” Scott said to the Daily Caller News Foundation when asked if Harris ever personally spoke with him during his time leading the Border Patrol. “As soon as the [Biden-Harris] administration came in, we were basically told in no uncertain terms that if they wanted our opinions, they would ask, but they never asked.”

“At no time did Biden or Harris ever ask to meet with or get briefed by U.S. Border Patrol,” Scott continued. “No meetings at all.”

3) Trump Tells Breitbart He’ll Solve Ukraine-Russia War ‘Before I Get to the White House, After I’m President-Elect’

From Breitbart: Former President Donald Trump told Breitbart News exclusively on Thursday evening that he intends to negotiate peace between Russia and Ukraine as President-elect before he even is sworn in as the next president of the United States.

Trump, in an hourlong interview with Breitbart News at his luxurious seaside resort and club, Mar-a-Lago, here in South Florida, said that he wants to see the war between Russia and Ukraine “settled.”

Trump said he knows Russian president Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, and believes he can negotiate peace to end the “death” and “destruction” if elected again on Nov. 5.

4) Tim Walz repeatedly hosted Muslim cleric who celebrated Oct. 7 and shared pro-Hitler website link

From Washington Examiner: Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz, on at least five occasions as governor of Minnesota, hosted a Muslim cleric who celebrated Hamas‘s Oct. 7 attack last year on Israel and promoted a film popular among Neo-Nazis that glorifies Adolf Hitler, the Washington Examiner found.

The imam, Asad Zaman of the Muslim American Society of Minnesota, joined other Muslim leaders in May 2023 for a meeting about mosque security with Walz’s gubernatorial office in Minnesota. Zaman also spoke at a May 2020 event to call for peaceful protests with the governor during the riots in Minnesota sparked after George Floyd’s death. In April 2019, the cleric delivered an invocation before Walz’s state address — just months after Zaman called for an end to a government shutdown at a press conference with Walz in January 2019.

Zaman, moreover, attended a May 2019 event that Walz hosted for Ramadan, social media posts show. Walz’s ties to Zaman could serve as problematic baggage for the Minnesota governor as he campaigns with Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee. News of the ties also comes after a Washington Free Beacon report this week found Walz spoke at a 2019 event with an antisemitic scholar who has defended terrorism against Israel.

5) Newsom stages the fakest clean up video

From Collin Rugg via X/Twitter: California Governor Gavin Newsom is currently cleaning up a homeless encampment in Mission Hills. The physical labor from Newsom comes just 2 weeks after he issued an executive order, demanding that state officials tear down homeless camps.

Newsom, who appears to be fed up with how slow LA county is moving on the project, decided to put the gloves on himself.

6) Biden appears confused as he greets World Series champion Texas Rangers at WH for his only public event this week: ‘What am I doing?’

From New York Post: President Biden openly expressed confusion about what he should be doing Thursday at his only scheduled public event of the week — and had to be reminded by an emcee to leave a White House celebration of the Texas Rangers’ World Series win, which he did after saluting the athletes.

Biden, 81, ended his campaign for a second term on July 21 after a mutiny by fellow Democrats concerned about his mental acuity, but he has insisted that he remains capable of serving as president through Jan. 20 — despite his noticeably sparse schedule.

“All right, what am I doing now?” Biden said after wrapping up the event by accepting a personalized jersey and cowboy boots from the baseball team in the White House’s East Room.

Biden, who has hosted dozens of events in the same room, then stood awkwardly looking around for direction — at one point raising both hands in an apparent questioning gesture, indicating he wasn’t sure what to do.

7) Eastern Europe’s armies struggle to enlist young people with war not far away

From Reuters: As instructors shout commands, dozens of students taking part in a pilot Czech army programme aimed at boosting flagging enlistment numbers crawl through forest scrub carrying combat rifles and learning proper shooting positions.

Like most former Soviet-satellite states now in NATO, the Czech Republic has missed recruitment targets for years and struggled to maintain troop levels. This has left army units understaffed and unable to reach combat readiness, with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, on eastern Europe’s fringes, a stark reminder of Moscow’s potential threat to the region.
Around 80 Czech high school students chose to spend part of their summer learning about army life at the four-week training programme being conducted in a closed military zone 94 km (58 miles) west of the capital Prague. But General Karel Rehka, the Czech armed forces chief, has called the current system unsustainable.

8) Delta’s top DEI officer jettisons ‘ladies and gentleman’ gate announcements as part of equity push

From Fox Business: Over the last few years, Delta Air Lines has embraced the diversity, equity and inclusion agenda under the purview of a chief officer who believes that the phrase “ladies and gentlemen” isn’t inclusive.

Delta’s Chief Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Social Impact Officer Kyra Lynn Johnson has said publicly Delta is striving to “boldly pursue equity” which has impacted every level of the company, from its hiring practices to the language it uses in gate announcements.

“So we’re beginning to take a hard look at things like our gatehouse announcements. You know, we welcome ‘ladies and gentlemen.’ And we’ve asked ourselves, ‘Is that as gender inclusive as we want to be?’” Johnson said during a February 2021 panel with other DEI insiders. “You know, we’re looking at some legacy language that exists in some of our employee manuals. And getting to the root of the way some things are described and saying, ‘Does that actually send a message of inclusivity?’”

Delta released an inclusive language guide in December 2020 which advised employees and leaders against using terms that reinforce the notion that there are only two genders.

“Use gender-neutral language and pronouns. Do not use language that suggests a gender binary (male-female),” the Delta guide said.

9) Rosie O’Donnell’s unhinged rant on Trump

From Libs of TikTok via X/Twitter: Rosie O’Donnell is done with Trump! How will Trump ever recover from this?

10) Johnny Cash Statue Coming To U.S. Capitol

From Daily Wire: Legendary country singer Johnny Cash’s statue is headed to the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., where he will be immortalized in bronze for future generations.

In a letter from Congress, the official unveiling of the “Man in Black” statue is set to take place September 24 at 11 a.m. in the National Statuary Hall, the Smithsonian magazine reported.

The 8-foot-tall Arkansas native’s statue will be joined by one honoring civil rights leader Daisy Bates whose statue debuted in May. The hall displays statues of two well known residents from each state.
