A pair of new reports may help solve the mystery of a tragic plane crash.

The Air India plane, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner carrying 242 people, crashed into a residential area just before 5 a.m. ET on Thursday in Ahmedabad. The airline confirmed that 241 people were killed, but, miraculously, there was one survivor.

The crash also killed at least one person on the ground after the plane struck a medical school hostel. 50 building occupants were hospitalized, and a least seven were reported missing.

The sole survivor is a 40-year-old man who is a British national of Indian origin. He reported that “thirty seconds after take-off, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed.”

“It all happened so quickly,” he said.

A report from NY Post says a video was taken from inside the jet, and it may contain disturbing clues about the crash , if the contents are real

From the NY Post:

A passenger who reportedly flew on the doomed Air India jet just two hours before it crashed, killing more than 200 people, posted shocking video in which he says “nothing” was working in the cabin — including lights, air conditioning and the seat-back display screens.

The eerie footage was purportedly taken inside the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on its second-to-last flight as it flew from Delhi to Ahmedabad, hours before it crashed shortly after takeoff en route to London’s Gatwick airport.

Social media user Akash Vatsa posted a video on X, captioned, “I was in the same damn flight two hours before it took off from Ahmedabad.”

“I came in this from Delhi to Ahmedabad. Noticed unusual things in the place.”

Vatsa explained that he’d filmed what he was experiencing on the aircraft so he could show Air India reps.

In the video, Vatsa says the AC didn’t work “at all,” adding, “And, as usual, your TV screens are also not working, neither is this button for calling the cabin crew.”

The video purports to show “loose parts under the seats, broken fittings, and potential signs of a lack of maintenance, are also visible in the videos,” according to The Post.

Vasta says in the video, “Air India is considered one of the worst airlines in the world.”

In a separate report, the Daily Mail revealed that the doomed plane’s pilot “frantically warned the plane was ‘losing power’ just moments before it crashed.”

From Daily Mail:

Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, who had 8,200 hours of flying experience, desperately cried ‘Mayday…no thrust, losing power, unable to lift’ before the aircraft went down and hit a residential property.

Distressing video footage shows the jet’s fateful last moments as it rapidly lost altitude and speed, which would have filled the cockpit with a cacophony of terrifying alarms.

Captain Sabharwal and Clive Kundar, his co-pilot with 1,100 hours of experience, issued a desperate mayday call warning the plane was ‘losing power’.

The footage appears to show them hopelessly trying to nudge up the nose of their sinking aircraft moments before the devastating impact.
