Former HUD Director Dr. Ben Carson released a statement on social media, after U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan officially dismissed both the ‘January 6 election interference’ case and the appeal of the ‘Mar-a-Lago classified documents’ case against President-elect Donald Trump.
The cases were dismissed at the request of Special Counsel Jack Smith, who will reportedly be resigning to avoid being fired by Trump once he takes office.
Dr. Carson, a staunch supporter of Trump, wrote the following:
While I am pleased each time I see one of President Trump’s cases dismissed, I can’t help but reflect on the dark stain these last few years have left on our nation’s reputation and integrity.
The lawfare, lies, deception, and collusion have caused irreparable damage to many of our institutions.
It’s perhaps the greatest act of desperation in the history of American politics, yet it was soundly rejected by We the People.
I pray the American people will remember this when the left inevitably tries it again and that we ALWAYS choose liberty over tyranny.
