Iowa Republican Party Chair Jeff Kaufmann formally nominated Donald Trump to be the Republican Party’s choice for president to widespread cheers.
“It is my honor to nominated Donald J. Trump for the office of president of the United States,” Kaufmann said, which was followed by “USA” chants.
Kaufmann said in his speech nominating Trump that his candidacy will make the country wealthy, strong, safe and great again, in line with the themes of each day of the RNC.
Nevada GOP Chair Michael McDonald followed Kaufmann in seconding the nomination.
