From the Washington Examiner: Ohio police said Friday they arrested a man who allegedly ran Jewish Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) off the road near Cleveland and brandished a Palestinian flag at the congressman on Thursday, after the suspect voluntarily turned himself in.
Police identified the man as Feras Hamdan, a 36-year-old West Lake, Ohio, resident. He surrendered himself to authorities after the Rocky River Municipal Court issued an arrest warrant for aggravated menacing, according to multiple reports.
Miller denounced the man responsible for the road rage incident on social media, declaring in a separate post that “hate has no home” in his district. He has represented Ohio’s 7th Congressional District since 2023.
Miller first told about the scary incident in a video posted on X.
“The deranged hatred in this country has gotten out of control. Today I was run off the road in Rocky River, and the life of me and my family was threatened by a person who proceeded to show a Palestinian flag before taking off. I have filed a police report with Capitol Police and the local police department. We know who this person is and he will face justice,” he wrote.
“As a Marine, a proud Jewish American and a staunch defender of Israel, I will not hide in the face of this blatant antisemitic violence,” Miller added.
According to the Rocky River Police Department, Miller said in a 911 call, “I was just driving to work, and I was cut off by a man in a Tesla who held up a Palestinian flag to me, and then rolled down his window and said that ‘I’m going to cut your throat and your daughter’s,’ And he said, ‘You’re a dirty Jew. I’m going to f***ing kill you all, and I know who you are and where you live.’”

In a second post, Miller added, “Thank you to the local police departments of Ohio’s 7th District and the U.S. Capitol Police for your assistance today. A police report has been filed, and when I am able to share the finalized report I will do so immediately. Hate has no home here in OH-7!”

The Muslim man who reportedly threatened Miller, Feras Hamdan, is a local doctor, who later turned himself in to police after the incident became publicly known.
X user StopAntisemitism note that Hamdan “has medical privileges at prestigious institutions like the @ClevelandClinic and @UHhospitals” and added, “Feras Hamdan is a danger to Jewish patients and we hope the Ohio Medical Board investigates and revokes his license.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson weighed in Thursday evening, writing, “What happened to Max this morning is yet another outrageous example of unhinged rhetoric inspiring unstable people to threaten and attack elected officials who are serving their communities. We must turn down the temperature in this country. The U.S. Capitol Police is engaged with local law enforcement to help handle this case and ensure justice is served.”
