From the Washington Examiner: Monday’s violent counterprotest against a Turning Point USA event at the University of California, Berkeley, was organized by an outside antifa agitator group responsible for leading previous uprisings on campus and across the city.
Ahead of the TPUSA speaking event, which ended in several assaults and arrests, an antifa coalition, called By Any Means Necessary, circulated a flyer calling on its followers to “End Fascist Turning Point’s Youth-Oriented Campaign of Incitement to Violence.”
According to BAMN’s poster, which was also distributed on campus, the purpose of the counterprotest was to “make clear [TPUSA] is a white nationalist, neo-fascist organization.”
BAMN advertised for people to join the protest in a Facebook post, spewing a long list of wild and false allegations. Bizarrely, the group claimed they were ending TPUSA’s “campaign of incitement to violence” by inciting violence themselves.
The post reads:
Berkeley: End Fascist Turning Point’s Youth-Oriented Campaign of Incitement to Violence!

The group’s Facebook page name includes their agenda: “BAMN – Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action, Integration, and Immigrant Rights and Fight for Equality By Any Means Necessary.”
A photo posted on their page shows a mob of protesters carrying posters that demand “Full Citizenship, Rights for All.”
The mob of Antifa protesters became violent Monday evening, as they tried to block the entrance to the Turning Point USA event and intimidate attendees, attempted to break down barriers, lit flares and threw items at police who were trying to keep them away from the attendees.
One of the Antifa activists was later revealed to be a 25-year-old Muslim man named Jihad Dphrepaulezz.
Journalist Andy Ngo reported, “A far-left extremist stole a conservative man’s necklace & then punched him repeatedly in the face when he tried to take it back outside the TPUSA event. The victim was bloodied, and the leftists racially mocked him for being white.”
Dphrepaulezz was arrested by police and charged with assault and robbery.
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Tuesday evening:
Antifa is an existential threat to our nation. The violent riots at UC Berkeley last night are under full investigation by the FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force. We will continue to spare no expense unmasking all who commit and orchestrate acts of political violence.
Under President Trump’s leadership, and pursuant to his Executive Order designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, the Department of Justice and our law-enforcement partners are dismantling violent networks that seek to intimidate Americans and suppress their free expression and First Amendment rights.
