DOG FIGHT: Democrats call to censure Republican Rep after he slams NYC Muslim advocate over comment on dogs

From Breitbart: Democratic politicians have found themselves indirectly defending Islam’s 7th-century hatred of man’s best friend, dogs.

Several Democrats have instinctively accused Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) of racism after he reacted to a New York-based Muslim advocate, Nerdeen Kiswani — who said house pet dogs will not be welcome in a non-secular, Islamic New York.

In a post on X last week, Kiswani, a Palestinian and a Muslim, wrote, “Finally, NYC is coming to Islam. Dogs definitely have a place in society, just not as indoor pets. Like we’ve said all along, they are unclean.”

Two hours later, after being hit with massive backlash, Kiswani claimed she was only joking, and insisted her concern was only that some people are not picking up after their pets.

“Lmao at the Zionists frothing at the mouth at this, thinking they’re doing something. It’s obviously a joke I don’t care if you have a dog, I do care if your dog is shitting everywhere and you’re not cleaning it,” she claimed.

Kiswani was born in Jordan but grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She is the founder of Within Our Lifetime, a hard-lined pro-Palestinian activist group in New York City that is credited with organizing anti-Israel marches in New York City, taking over the streets and shutting down traffic. Kiswani has been credited with influencing Gaza War protests across the US, including student protests at college campuses. In 2023, she organized a protest against the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.

She uses the phrase “by any means necessary” in her protests against Israel, and has condemned Democrat politicians who voice support for Israel, including Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.  Kiswani has also promoted boycotts of any company who does business with Israel.

Social media exploded in outrage after Kiswani’s post.

X user Daphne wrote, “Zionists? You underestimate how people feel about dogs in this country and how most all of us, ever religion and race other than yours, would chose a dog over you.”

Republican Rep. Randy Fine (Fla.) also slammed Kiswani over her tweet about dogs. Now suddenly Democrats have attacked him, and Kiswani has accused him of being “Islamophobic.”

“If they force us to choose, the choice between dogs and Muslims is not a difficult one,” Fine wrote, adding, “For context, this is the leader of one of the key mainstream Muslim groups that supported Mamdani.”

Kiswani fired back, “Randy fine posted this genocidal statement about me. Thing is, no one is forcing you to choose. He’s just like the millions of other racists hounding me this past week, looking for a reason to be Islamophobic. Just replace Muslims with any other religion and ask if this is ok.”

The dog fight is on….

Democrat Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) snarled, “This is genuinely one of the most disgusting statements I have ever seen issued by an American official. It should not stop shocking us that the Republican Party openly embraces this. Fine should be censured & stripped of committees. To ignore this is to accept and normalize it.”

Fine is firing back at each one with a new “Don’t Tread On Me” image featuring a puppy.

“I think agreeing that your constituents should be forced to give up their dogs because it bothers some Muslims is pretty disgusting, but that’s just me,” he replied to AOC.

Rep. Dan Goldman fumed, “This is not only an unacceptable and revolting Islamophobic comment coming from anyone, much less a member of Congress, but it is incredibly damaging to Jews trying to combat antisemitism and unify against hate of all kinds. @SpeakerJohnson must show some actual leadership by bringing a censure resolution to the floor and stripping @RepFine of his committee assignments. Silence is complicity.”

“I’d think your constituents would want to keep their dogs,” Fine retorted.

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) wrote, “We must call this what it is. Disgusting bigotry. Fine must be censured. It’s about morality and decency, not politics.”

Fine replied, “You really want to make common cause with those who want to ban Americans from having dogs? I look forward to the debate. Bring it.”

Khanna snapped back, “Taking an alleged comment by one person and attributing it to everyone who shares that person’s faith is the definition of bigotry. And prior to hurling more insults, you may wish to re-read Genesis 1:27 that all humans are made in the “image of God.””

Fine retorted, “An alleged comment? IT WAS IN WRITING, POSTED TO X, AND SEEN MILLIONS OF TIMES BEFORE I RESPONDED. Perhaps you should have read it before you started spouting off like an idiot.

“As for quoting the Torah, you’re forgiven as it is not your faith, but in that same chapter — Genesis — G-d also created dogs. They are man’s best friend for a reason. You’ve successfully put yourself on the 10 side of a 90-10 issue. Congrats. I’ll debate this one all day.”

British commentator Piers Morgan also slammed Fine, writing, “You disgusting pr*ck.”

Fine replied, “Piers, what is disgusting is a major NYC Muslim leader saying we must give up our dogs because “NYC is coming to Islam.” We will not be shamed into being conquered like the Europeans. I choose my dog. I know my first appearance on your show didn’t go well for you, but if you want to try again, I am happy to administer another beating.”

Kiswani again tried to defend herself, writing, “Some people are rewriting the timeline around the “dog discourse,” so here are the actual receipts. I did not start this conversation. I stepped into one that NYC politicians, media, and thousands of residents were already having.”

Fine retorted with another Don’t Tread on Me dog image.

Podcaster Megyn Kelly also slammed Fine for his tweet, sneering, “wtf is this.”

Kelly is now being blasted by conservatives for slamming Fine, but that is a dog fight for another story!

Journalist Laura Loomer wrote, “Why is Megyn Kelly simping for Islam? Does she really not understand what is happening? @megynkelly it’s a yes or no answer. Do you agree with Muslims that we need to BAN DOGS in NYC because they are “un-Islamic”? Do you prefer Muslims over Dogs? Stop gaslighting people.”

Fine is addressing the “dog fight” in media interviews:

Jennifer Jenkins, a Democrat running against Fine and hoping to take his seat in U.S. Congress, is seizing on the controversy and using it to try to boost her own campaign.

“@RepFine knows we’re going to win — and it shows. Let’s kick the bigot out of Washington 💪,” she snarled.
