Florida Governor Ron DeSantis slammed Congress in a social media post Tuesday, for failing to codify into law the budget cuts made by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

DeSantis was responding to a post by prominent X user and former nuclear scientist Matt Van Swol, who had written:

“DOGE is literally one of the most popular government initiatives in history. 73% of Americans say they support cutting government waste. Trump brought in the smartest man on earth to do it… …the Left destroyed Elon for it… the GOP won’t vote on it. I can’t believe this.”

“Did my best,” Elon Musk replied.

Gov. Desantis then added in fury, “Elon Musk took massive incoming — including attacks on his companies as well as personal smears — to lead the effort on @DOGE. He became public enemy #1 of legacy media around the world.

“To see Republicans in Congress cast aside any meaningful spending reductions (and, in fact, fully fund things like USAID) is demoralizing and represents a betrayal of the voters who elected them.”

Van Swol replied,”This is exactly correct. We ALL saw Elon choose to sacrifice everything he had in order to stop waste and fraud in the government. They burned his showrooms. They protested him in the streets. They vandalized Teslas across the country. Yet the GOP does nothing… Unreal.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) responded to the discussion, writing, “I can’t disagree with anything here. We should have been voting on DOGE cuts every single week.”
