After losing control of the White House and the Senate and failing to retake the House, Democrats lamented over their losses, and are now trying a new strategy to connect with voters.
In a press conference on Thursday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer tried to reclaim the very groups of people who supported President-elect Donald Trump, saying, “Democrats stand united not because of who we fight against but because of who we are fighting for — the working class, the middle class, hardworking Americans.”
Senate Democrats also released a cringy video on Thursday, featuring a number of them attempting to convince Americans that they are the Party who should be trusted to help.
“The 119th Congress has begun, and Senate Democrats are ready to get to work and fight for you,” Schumer wrote as he posted the video on social media.

The video is being widely mocked on social media.
In reference to Schumer, Terry Hirsch wrote, “The only thing we need you to do is step aside and retire. You’ve been in the Senate way too long. If you’re gonna do anything, get congressional term limits passed.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren posted the video and wrote, “Democrats weren’t elected to roll over and play dead. We’re ready to fight back for working families.”
Comedian Jimmy Dore mocked, “NOW they’re going to fight for workers & their families!?! So you’re all done crushing railroad union strikes & flooding the country with millions of desperate people to suppress wages? And all it took was Americans to elect Trump & a Republican congress? Who Knew?!?”
