DEM-LED CHAOS: Violent protesters swarm Minnesota hotel, officer left bloodied

From NY PostAnti-ICE protesters violently swarmed a Minneapolis hotel where they believed federal officers were staying, hurling items at people inside, smashing its windows, and graffitiing “F–K ICE” across the building’s facade Sunday.

The large mob descended on the Home2 Suites by Hilton Hotel late Sunday night, as tensions gripped the Twin Cities just one day after Border Patrol agents shot and killed protester Alex Pretti, 37, in Minneapolis.

They shoved and hurled objects at a Minneapolis Police Department officer and others just inside the hotel’s lobby and attempted to push their way in — forcing those inside to use two large vending machines to physically block the rowdy demonstrators.

As the protestors descended, one man was heard trying to get them to turn away. “We’re all locals, it’s all locals!” he shouted. “You guys are doing this for no reason.”

But the rowdy protesters were set on chaos, making noise with everything from trash cans to whistles, and shoving strobe lights at the hotel in an effort to disturb any federal officers that may be sleeping inside.

Others went as far as vandalism, including smashing hotel windows, damaging the hotel sign, and writing on its walls with messages such as “ICE OUT,” “F–K ICE” and “ICE KILLS.”

Scenes from the incident show a hotel lobby littered with trash and debris.

One X user posted videos from Minnesota, writing, “This makes my blood BOIL. Tim Walz deployed over a thousand National Guard to Minneapolis to distribute donuts, coffee and hot chocolate to RIOTERS.

“Tonight those rioters tried to STORM a hotel where they suspected ICE agents were staying. A lone federal agent can be seen defending the front of the hotel, BLEEDING from his face and his hands.

“‘Where’s the local PD?’ he asks as the impotent press stands there snapping pictures.

“If this doesn’t make [President Donald Trump] invoke the Insurrection Act then I don’t know what will.”

It appears that some arrests have been made.
