From KAKE.com: Charging documents are providing a deeper look into a stabbing at a popular public park in Olathe, Kansas.

The victim, a well-known middle school choir teacher, had been sitting at a picnic table at the park when she suddenly felt a hard blow to the side of her head.

Documents state victim Jamie Trumpp told police that she thought she had been hit by a ball until people ran to her screaming, and she looked down and saw a pool of blood on the ground.

Trumpp suffered a 5-inch-long cut to the front of her neck that was approximately half an inch deep. She was rushed to an area hospital where she was admitted, and needed both internal and external stitches to close the wound.

Multiple witnesses said the suspect had been acting “weird” ahead of the attack, and told police they saw him approach Trumpp, yell an expletive, swing his arm, and stab her in the neck.

One witness chased down the attacker, later identified as Kwan Noble Trezvant, 28. Police found him sitting in a lawn chair behind a nearby home and arrested him.

After being taken into custody, Trezvan made wild statements to police, including, “I know I’m stupid. I didn’t mean to bro, she kept on f****** with me bro,” and “I had no choice.”

During an interview at the police station, Trezvant was yelling at “individuals who were not present.” Defense attorneys have already filed a motion requesting that he have a mental evaluation to see if he is competent to stand trial.

Trezvant already had at least two prior arrests on his record. He was sentenced to 119 days in jail for an August 2024 incident involving battery against a law enforcement officer and battery against a health care worker in Johnson County.

Earlier in 2024, he entered a no-contest plea in Douglas County to felony reckless endangerment, the report states.

Trezvant is reportedly being held in the Johnson County jail on a $500,000 cash bond.

Trumpp is reportedly still recovering at home, and local volunteers have banded together to provide meals for her family.

Although the report only describes two prior arrests, prominent X user and investigative journalist Libs of TikTok has discovered four prior arrests on Trezvant’s record.

The Olathe Police Department announced, “Trezvant has been formally charged with attempted first-degree murder.”
