FROM NY POST: A 13-year-old boy has been charged with murder over the death of his 11-year-old friend who was shot at a home in New York’s Hudson Valley, police announced on Friday.
The young teen was arrested and now faces second degree murder charges following the 11-year-old’s death in Newburgh on Thursday morning, the City of Newburgh Police Department said in a statement.
Officials said the boy shot and killed his friend, despite initial reports that the victim accidentally shot himself while playing with the gun.
“Officers arrived and located a single victim inside the residence who was deceased from a gunshot wound,” the statement read.
The victim has not been identified.
The exact circumstances of the shooting have not been revealed.
