CRICKETS: Democrat Ceasefire Crusaders In Congress Go Silent After Trump Actually Gets One

From the Daily Caller: Many of the lawmakers who demanded a ceasefire in Gaza over the past two years have fallen silent after President Donald Trump secured one between Israel and Hamas on Wednesday.

Just ten days after Hamas terrorists stormed into Israel, killing civilians and taking both Israelis and Americans hostage, Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib blasted then-President Joe Biden, saying, “This is what happens when you refuse to facilitate a ceasefire and help de-escalate,” referring to Palestinian deaths in an Israeli retaliatory strike.

Now that Trump has negotiated a deal securing the release of the remaining hostages and the withdrawal of Israeli forces, Tlaib has had nothing to say about the sitting president.

Members of the progressive Democrat “Squad” have held multiple press conferences over the past two years, demanding a ceasefire. Now that President Trump has announced a deal, they’re still not giving him any credit.

Democrat Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has not posted a single word about Trump’s achievement of a peace agreement.

Somalian refugee Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) did comment on the matter, but did not mention Trump’s name at all.

“For the sake of humanity, let’s hope this will be a lasting and permanent ceasefire. While this is a hopeful step, we must demand accountability for every war crime committed during this genocide and continue to call for an end to the occupation,” she wrote.

Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-Ill.) also posted a statement about the ceasefire, but not one word about President Trump. She wrote:

Immediately after October 7, I called for a ceasefire and for a path that honors our shared humanity. It is unfortunate that it took this long. However, I am hopeful that today’s ceasefire agreement will bring the hostages and prisoners home and end the bombing and starvation of the Palestinian people.

We must save Palestinian lives and pursue an end to U.S. complicity in Israel’s war crimes, atrocities, and genocide. I will continue to work to Block the Bombs, as we pursue a future of self-determination for the Palestinian people and a just and lasting peace for all residents of the region.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) posted a statement on the two-year anniversary of the Oct. 7 massacre, but since a peace agreement was announced the following day, she has not posted a word.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also released a statement on the Oct. 7 anniversary, and wrote, “We must continue working toward the release of hostages, an immediate and sustained ceasefire, and the urgent delivery of food, water, and medicine to Gaza for those in desperate need.”

Again, since a peace agreement has been announced, Pelosi has said nothing about it.

‘Squad’ Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) posted a statement on Oct. 7 about “recognizing two years since the October 7th attack, the devastation that has followed in Gaza, and the need for an immediate ceasefire.”

But now that a ceasefire and peace agreement has been announced, it’s crickets from Jayapal.

Democrat Rep. Wesley Bell (Mo.) commented on the peace agreement, but made no mention of President Trump.

He wrote: “The announcement of this ceasefire agreement is a welcome and long-overdue development. We must now begin the hard but necessary work toward a lasting and just peace between Israelis and Palestinians that begins with bringing the remaining hostages home and surging aid to those that need it.”

Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) also could not bring himself to mention Trump’s name.

“I’m encouraged by the framework reached to release the remaining hostages, end hostilities, surge humanitarian aid, and bring this war closer to its overdue end. The success of this deal, and the prospects for peace, rely on its implementation. I join the world in praying for its success, for the sake of every innocent life still at risk,” he wrote.

Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) commented on the peace agreement, but also couldn’t bring himself to give any credit to President Trump.

Goldman wrote, “I am beyond overjoyed that the remaining hostages are finally coming home and that the war will end. We never did forget. I congratulate all those involved in brokering this historic agreement, and am hopeful that this plan creates a blueprint for Israelis and Palestinians to live with peace and security, and most importantly without the terror of Hamas.”
