From Fox News: U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested a Somali illegal immigrant, who was convicted of fraud and is connected to several high-profile Minnesota politicians, including former Democratic vice presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz.
The illegal alien, Abdul Dahir Ibrahim, from Somalia, has had a deportation order against him since 2004 and courts have rejected all of his appeals.
Ibrahim has a criminal history that includes convictions in Canada for asylum and welfare fraud before he entered the United States, according to a Department of Justice document reviewed by Fox News Digital. On January 23, 2002, Ibrahim was also convicted in the Dakota County District Court for providing false information to police and driving without a valid license. He was fined and sentenced to one year’s probation. Ibrahim has also received 12 traffic or parking citations in the U.S.
Ibrahim is unmarried but at one point claimed that his sister was his wife and her children were theirs, which was later found to be fictitious, according to the document.
The report further explains that after Ibrahim was deported from Canada in 1995, he snuck into the United States.
A U.S. immigration judge order Ibrahim’s deportation on April 3, 2024, noting his criminal record and fraud allegations. He appealed the order, but a circuit court upheld the deportation order in 2006, denying his appeal.
However, Ibrahim still wasn’t deported to Somalia, and bizarrely, he was granted Temporary Protective Status (TPS) for approximately 10 years.
Fox News also notes that Somalian refugee Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Minneapolis Democratic City Council Member Jamal Osman had tried to help Ibrahim out by writing letters of recommendation on his behalf during his immigration proceedings.
The Department of Homeland Security posted videos of Rep. Ilhan Omar, Minn. Gov. Tim Walz, and former Minneapolis mayoral candidate Omar Fateh all cozied up to Ibrahim and wrote, “Criminal illegal alien, Abdul Dahir Ibrahim has been linked to Minnesota’s top sanctuary politicians. In these pictures Ibrahim can be seen with @GovTimWalz, @Ilhan, and @OmarFatehMN.”
“Ibrahim was convicted in Canada for Asylum and Welfare Fraud prior to his entry into the United States. On April 3, 2004, an immigration judge ordered Ibrahim removed, citing the significant amount of fraud associated with him. Bye-bye, Abdul.”
