Ahead of Tuesday night’s debate in Pennsylvania, a family-owned bakery in Hatboro is once again using cookies to measure support for the presidential candidates.

So far, 4,228 cookies have been sold in support of former President Trump, compared to just 369 for Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Every sale gets marked off. Currently, right now, as you can see, Trump is in the lead significantly. And compared to the 2020 numbers, right now, year to date in 2020, the margin is astonishing,” the owner of Lochel’s Bakery, Kathleen Lochel, told CBS News.

CBS News Philadelphia’s Ross DiMattei noted how Trump cookies were significantly outpacing Harris cookies, asking Lochel, “The margin is even greater this year than it was 4 years ago?” He suggested the bakery’s location might play a role but acknowledged strong support for the former president.

“All over the country,” Lochel said. “And Montgomery County is a blue county per se, so I wanna get that out there, but at least a third of those cookies have been shipped all over the United States.”
