CONSEQUENCES: Politicians, celebrities face legal backlash for ‘murder’ claims in ICE shooting

From Fox News: As celebrities and politicians repeatedly call the ICE agent who fatally shot Renee Good a “murderer,” Fox News host Will Cain questioned whether such language crosses a legal line in the absence of any arrest, indictment or conviction.

“Murder, murder, murder. Repeated ad nauseum. From big stages, with people with big platforms, with deep pockets and big money. And you wonder, does that kind of recklessness ever face accountability?” Cain said Monday on “The Will Cain Show.”

“You have to wonder if that accountability, at some point, for these reckless rich celebrities isn’t defamation, isn’t a lawsuit.”

An ICE agent shot and killed the 37-year-old Minneapolis woman during a federal enforcement operation in south Minneapolis. Federal officials have said agents were attempting to make arrests when the woman tried to use her vehicle as a weapon against officers, prompting the ICE agent to fire in self-defense.

Multiple Democrats and celebrities have wildly declared tht the ICE agent who shot Good is a “murderer,” including Democrat Socialists Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Others throwing around the “murderer” label are far-left commentator Keith Olbermann, Milwaukee Bucks Head Coach Doc Rivers, singer Bill Madden, progressive Democrat Rep. Maxwell Frost (Fla.), and many others.

On Tuesday, Will Cain got into a heated debate with Frost over his allegations of murder, and warned, “YOU are calling an officer a M*RDERER! I’d be careful, I believe you’re liable for DEFAMATION!”

Bill Madden, a singer and songwriter, shared a “Wanted” poster and write, “ICE Nazi wanted for the MURDER of an American citizen. Has this piece of shit been arrested, yet?”

Last week, Will Cain ripped into Democrat Rep. Seth Mouton (Mass.) for calling the ICE agent a murderer.
