From The Hill: Attorney General Pam Bondi on Thursday announced three individuals are facing federal charges for allegedly attacking Tesla properties as protests and vandalism hit Elon Musk’s electric vehicle company across the country.

Calling the charges a “warning,” Bondi said the three individuals are accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at Tesla dealerships in three different states in recent weeks.

The charges come amid a wave of violent demonstrations taking place across the nation in protest of Musk’s efforts to slash the federal government and budget under President Trump’s direction.

Bondi announced the charges in a DOJ press release, as follows:

Today, Attorney General Pamela Bondi announced charges against three individuals responsible for the violent destruction of Tesla properties. All three defendants will face the full force of the law for using Molotov cocktails to set fire to Tesla cars and charging stations.

“The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. “Let this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put you behind bars.”

  • One defendant, also armed with a suppressed AR-15 rifle, was arrested after throwing approximately eight Molotov cocktails at a Tesla dealership located in Salem, Oregon.
  • Another was arrested in Loveland, Colorado after attempting to light Teslas on fire with Molotov cocktails. The defendant was later found in possession of materials used to produce additional incendiary weapons.
  • In Charleston, South Carolina, a third defendant wrote profane messages against President Trump around Tesla charging stations before lighting the charging stations on fire with Molotov cocktails.
  • Each defendant faces serious charges carrying a minimum penalty of five years and up to 20 years in prison.

Although not mentioned in Bondi’s report, another man in San Jose, California was just busted for “keying” a Tesla vehicle. Apparently, he didn’t realize Teslas have cameras.

The car’s surveillance camera shows a van pulling into a parking lot space next to the Tesla. The man, wearing a USA flag-themed jacket gets out of his vehicle, walks over to the Tesla, checks it out, then scrapes his key all down the side of the vehicle.

A video of the act was posted on X by the Tesla Owners Silicon Valley group.

Someone in the community later saw the man and confronted him. He denied that he did it, and drove away.

He was still driving the same vehicle and wearing the same jacket as seen on the original surveillance video.   WATCH:

The San Jose Police Department then announced the man had been arrested:

“Within less than 24 hours of the viral vandalism incident being reported to the San Jose Police Department, we successfully identified, located, and arrested the individual responsible for this act of felony vandalism.

“This senseless crime and its subsequent consequences should serve as a clear reminder: no matter one’s personal beliefs or frustrations, they do not justify illegal actions. I urge everyone to respect one another and, above all, to respect the law.”

SJPD Chief Paul Joseph

Another X user, Serif Black, posted a video of a man using a pocket knife to make a long scrape down the side of his Tesla vehicle while it was parked at a ski resort in Lake Tahoe, California.
