FROM DAILY MAIL: Actor Tom Cruise reportedly turned down a Kennedy Center Award from President Donald Trump.

Anonymous Kennedy Center employees told the outlet of the actor’s move to shun Trump, with the president said to have been actively involved in picking him.

Cruise reportedly steers clear of politics, but he supports individual causes that matter to him, such as the military, veterans and his religion, Scientology.

Trump has announced the others honored with the award himself, opting to make the announcement instead of doing it through a press release as usual, a the Kennedy Center usually does.

The honorees are Sylvester Stallone, rock band KISS, Michael Crawford, Gloria Gaynor, and George Strait.

Trunp, who said he was  “very involved” in picking the awardees, will be hosting the event later this year.

Daily Mail notes that in his first term, Trump “didn’t even attend the ceremony.”
