CONFIRMED: Trump reveals his plans for survivors of drug-smuggling submarine strike

The Trump administration is repatriating survivors from this week’s drug-trafficking submarine strike to their home countries rather than bringing them to the United States.

U.S. officials said the survivors were aboard a semi-submersible vessel struck in the attack. Following the strike, President Trump wrote the following announcement on Truth Social:

“It was my great honor to destroy a very large DRUG-CARRYING SUBMARINE that was navigating towards the United States on a well known narcotrafficking transit route. U.S. Intelligence confirmed this vessel was loaded up with mostly Fentanyl, and other illegal narcotics. There were four known narcoterrorists on board the vessel. Two of the terrorists were killed. At least 25,000 Americans would die if I allowed this submarine to come ashore. The two surviving terrorists are being returned to their Countries of origin, Ecuador and Colombia, for detention and prosecution. No U.S. Forces were harmed in this strike. Under my watch, the United States of America will not tolerate narcoterrorists trafficking illegal drugs, by land or by sea. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Earlier this week, Trump threatened a ground assault on Venezuela, confirmed covert CIA operations there, and ordered nuclear-capable bombers to patrol its coast. Additionally, the U.S. military has carried out six strikes on Venezuelan drug-smuggling boats this year, killing more than two dozen people. The extraordinary military display appears intended to pressure Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro to step down.

Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry condemned Trump’s remarks and the U.S. military buildup, calling the Caribbean strikes acts of “aggression” and “harassment.” The Trump administration, facing questions over the strikes’ legality, has defended them as part of an “armed conflict” with drug cartels tied to Maduro. As a result, Maduro has reportedly offered preferential access to the country’s plentiful natural resources if Trump agrees to dialing back the aggressive military actions.

Earlier this week, Trump told reporters that the Venezuelan president “doesn’t want to f*** around with the United States.”
