The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has confirmed that former President Donald Trump was hit by a bullet during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Fox News anchor Bret Baier reported on X that the FBI clarified Trump had been struck by a bullet, which may have been whole or fragmented into smaller pieces.
This statement followed FBI Director Christopher Wray’s briefing to lawmakers, where he mentioned there was “some doubt” about whether the former president was hit by a bullet or shrapnel. Wray stated, “With respect to former President Trump, there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear.”
The incident occurred when 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks fired from the rooftop of a nearby building, with a direct line of sight to Trump. The bullet pierced the upper part of Trump’s right ear.
