From the New York Post: The father of the terror suspect accused of gunning down two soon-to-be-engaged Israeli Embassy staffers at the Capital Jewish Museum was honored by a far-left member of Congress with an invitation to President Trump’s joint address this past March, The Post has exclusively learned.

“Eric Rodriguez was our guest during the President’s Joint Speech to Congress, but we don’t know his family,” a spokesperson for Rep. Jesús “Chuy” García (D-Ill.) told The Post Thursday night.

In March, he hailed Rodriguez as “an outspoken advocate against attacks on veterans’ services and the rights of unionized federal employees.”

“Eric represents the very best of our community — someone who has served his country, continues to serve his fellow veterans and fights every day to protect the dignity of working people,” the congressman said in a statement at the time.

In a Facebook post on March 4, Rep Garcia announced: “I’m honored to have Eric Rodriguez (SEIU member) and Kristi Donaldson (AFGE-252 member) with me tonight as we listen to Trump’s address to Congress. Eric and Kristi are powerful reminders of the real harm Trump’s actions are inflicting on everyday Americans. While he continues to prioritize the interests of his wealthy friends, he will ultimately have to answer to hardworking Americans like Eric and Kristi.”

The same day, Eric Rodriguez was featured in an anti-Trump Service Employees International Union video promo, and said he was an Iraq War vet and an employee with the Veterans Affairs Department.

“The reason why I’m in Washington, DC, is because I’m concerned about what Donald Trump, Elon Musk and DOGE are doing to the VA system,” Rodriguez claimed.

The SEIU had posted multiple statements on Instagram around the time Rep. Garcia invited Eric Rodriguez to attend Trump’s joint address to Congress on March 4.

The day after Trump’s speech, Rodriguez said in a statement, “Right now, over 1,400 union VA workers have been illegally fired without cause, including where I work. It makes me angry. But it makes me even angrier to think about how all our veterans are suffering from this chaos and the reduced care they will receive.

“That’s why I felt like it was important to attend the President’s Congressional address last night in our nation’s capital. This is an attack on me and other federal workers, and it’s especially an attack on our veterans.”
