From the New York Post: One of the thugs suspected of savagely beating and robbing an off-duty NYPD cop in The Bronx was busted in Virginia on Tuesday — after fleeing there with his mommy, law-enforcement sources said.
Taveon Hargrove — who at 23 already has a rap sheet with more than a dozen arrests — was nabbed by the US Marshals’ Regional Fugitive Task Force in North Chesterfield for the brutal caught-on-video early Saturday attack on the 27-year-old officer on St. Peters Avenue in Westchester Square, according to the sources.
Charges are pending against Hargrove, who cops over the weekend warned was “to be considered armed and dangerous.”
After police released a wanted poster for his arrest, the suspect and his mother fled the Big Apple and were hiding out in the Virginia home, which belongs to a friend, according to the sources.
The report explains that police found Hargrove hiding in the garage of the Virginia home, where he had been sleeping on a mattress. He refused to come out when ordered by police, so the cops sent their dog in to get him. Hargrove tried to hit the dog, and the dog then attacked him.
Photos posted on social media show Hargrove looking beat with a bloodied face and in handcuffs.

The second suspect has not yet been identified or caught.
However, in addition to his mother fleeing with Hargrove, his father, Jeffrey Hargrove, 55, was arrested Sunday for allegedly using the NYPD officer’s stolen credit card at several bodegas in the Bronx.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the injured officer has “lots of broken bones on his face” and will be undergoing surgery Tuesday afternoon.
The NYPD had first posted a previous mugshot of Hargrove and announced they were looking for him.
The victim suffered multiple facial fractures.
One suspect ID’d as Taveon Hargrove. The second remains unidentified.
