CAUGHT: Brute on FBI’s ‘most wanted’ list for tossing cinderblock at ICE agents is finally busted at border

From the New York Post: The masked brute accused of hurling concrete blocks at federal agents during the violent anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles has finally been arrested — getting cuffed at the border by one of the agents he targeted, authorities said.

Elpidio Reyna, who was put on the FBI’s wanted list over last month’s chaos, was busted Wednesday at the US-Mexico border.

“He was taken into custody by a US Border Patrol officer who was inside one of the vehicles damaged in the attack — a brave law enforcement officer who could have been killed in last month’s dangerous and reckless attack,” US Attorney Bill Essayli said.

The 39-year-old Compton man was allegedly caught on camera brazenly throwing the blocks at FBI vehicles as they drove by him in Paramount on June 8.

The report explains that after authorities blasted out images of Reyna on wanted posters, he fled to Mexico.  Earlier this month, Mexican authorities nabbed Reyna in the state of Sinaloa, and has been holding him in custody.  He finally agreed to be returned to the U.S. and surrender to the FBI.

Essayli posted a video of Reyna’s arrest, along with a video of the rock-throwing incident that landed him in hot water:

ARRESTED: Elpidio Reyna surrendered today at the U.S.-Mexico border to face a felony charge of assault on a federal officer for throwing rocks at passing law enforcement vehicles in Paramount on June 7.

He was taken into custody by a U.S. Border Patrol officer who was inside one of the vehicles damaged in the attack — a brave law enforcement officer who could have been killed in last month’s dangerous and reckless attack.

I thank @FBILosAngeles, @CBP, and @USBPChiefELC for their efforts to track down this dangerous felon.

To anyone who thinks they can attack federal officers and hide behind a mask or helmet, Reyna’s arrest today proves we can find and charge anyone who violates federal law. Don’t touch our officers.

Reyna will make his initial appearance in federal court this afternoon. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino announced, “You may remember Elpidio Reyna, a subject who allegedly threw rocks at federal officers during immigration operations in California June 7. We got him. He was arrested today at the U.S.-Mexico border.

“Well done @FBILosAngeles @CBP and all federal partners. More to come. Those who attack America’s police officers can run but they can’t hide.”

The Department of Homeland Security also commented on Reyna’s arrest, writing, “.@Sec_Noem has made it clear: if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Elpidio Reyna is about to find out exactly what that means.”

The FBI had offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to Reyna’s capture.

FBI Director Kash Patel wrote, “If you harm a law enforcement officer, we will find you and hold you accountable. The FBI will never tolerate violence against those who serve and protect this country.”
