FROM NEW YORK POST: More than 20 people were killed in a “brutally savage” Russian airstrike on a village in eastern Ukraine on Tuesday — just as pensions were being doled out to citizens, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
The attack also injured around 21 others in Yarova, a village in the Donetsk region, Zelensky said while sharing sickening footage of bodies strewn across the ground.
The president also posted gruesome video of the aftermath as he urged the US and other allies to make Russia pay economically for its full-scale invasion.
“A brutally savage Russian strike with an aviation bomb on the village of Yarova in Donetsk region. Right at people. Ordinary civilians,” the Ukrainian president wrote on X. “At the moment when pensions were being distributed. According to preliminary information, the number of dead is more than 20 people. There are no words… Condolences to all relatives and loved ones of the deceased.
“Such strikes by Russia must not go without an adequate response from the world,” he continued. “The Russians continue to destroy lives, but avoid new strong sanctions, new strong strikes. The world must not remain silent. The world must not remain inactive. A response from the United States is needed. A response from Europe is needed.
“A response from the ‘twenty’ is needed. Strong actions are needed so that Russia stops bringing death.
