An emotional video of eight-year-old Liam, who suffers from a rare brain disorder and growth hormone deficiency, showed him in tears after receiving a birthday message of hope from former President Donald Trump. The video was shared on social media by podcaster Kevin Smith on Thursday.
Liam’s mother asked him to open the envelope carefully. As he read the message, she prompted him, “Can you read it out loud?” Overcome with emotion, Liam covered his eyes and handed the letter to his mother, brought to tears by the moment. She read the following from the letter to her son:
“Dear Liam, Happy 8th birthday. Mrs. Trump and I hope you enjoy this special occasion surrounded by the love of your family and friends. We are so encouraged by the strength and determination you have shown throughout your young life, and send our love and best wishes to you as you continue to fight. Remember you are never alone, and we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers for continued care and good health. May God bless you and your family. Stay strong. Sincerely —”
“Donald Trump,” Liam replied, bursting into tears again as his mother asked, “He knew it was your birthday?”
Nodding through tears, Liam whispered, “Thank you,” then signed, “I love you.”
Smith, the podcast host who posted the video, wrote on X: “This was sent to me by Liam’s family… Donald Trump didn’t ask for Credit for this. He just did it. Because he’s a good person. No matter what the media tries to say.”
