President Donald Trump announced Thursday morning that he is backing off from his aggressive policy on immigration and deportations.
In a Truth Social post, Trump said his administration will now focus on deporting illegal alien criminals.
The change is being made to accommodate the hotel and leisure business and farmers, Trump said.

Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace.
In many cases the Criminals allowed into our Country by the VERY Stupid Biden Open Borders Policy are applying for those jobs. This is not good. We must protect our Farmers, but get the CRIMINALS OUT OF THE USA. Changes are coming!
Trump’s announcement is prompting confusion and concern. Below are just some of the comments pouring in on X:

We have different types of visas available.
We just need to reinforce this to US farmers and companies to comply immigration process for sponsored work permit or visas. In that way, workers will be vetted properly.

Whey did the hotel and leisure businesses hire illegals in the first place? eVerify required in most states. Maybe it’s time to start enforcing this. At least Trump recognizes the issue and will act upon it.

The main reasons I supported you is to get illegal aliens out of the Country. I sincerely hope you are not going back on the promises you made when you were elected. We have at least 30 million illegals in this Country. Work permits are fine. Amnesty is not.
