BREAKING: Trump announces change in deportation policy

38

President Donald Trump announced Thursday morning that he is backing off from his aggressive policy on immigration and deportations.

In a Truth Social post, Trump said his administration will now focus on deporting illegal alien criminals.

The change is being made to accommodate the hotel and leisure business and farmers, Trump said.

Below is his full post:

Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace.

In many cases the Criminals allowed into our Country by the VERY Stupid Biden Open Borders Policy are applying for those jobs. This is not good. We must protect our Farmers, but get the CRIMINALS OUT OF THE USA. Changes are coming!

Trump’s announcement is prompting confusion and concern.  Below are just some of the comments pouring in on X:

Aaron Astor wrote, “OK I’m confused. Is Trump saying that he’s going to protect the right of non-gangster illegal immigrants to continue working on farms and in hotels? If so, why not push for expansion of temp work visas for them instead of threatening them with deportation?”

Paul Szypula wrote, “Trump better not be saying he’s going to allow some illegals to stay if they’re working in certain industries. Am I reading this correctly or misinterpreting?”

X user Justin wrote, “this is a weak reversal. Farmers do not need to hire illegals, they choose to as to hotels. Hell if they can do it, why not any business. This sure as gell isn’t what I voted for. Instead of greenlighting illegals and anchor babies how about funding more advance technology especially in farming. If these are good people why didn’t they try to get citizenship. This is disappointing as hell.”
