President Donald Trump arrived at Joint Base Elmendorf in Anchorage, Alaska Friday afternoon for his high-stakes meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump waited aboard Air Force One for several minutes, until Putin arrived in his presidential plane.

The two leaders then exited their planes and met on the red carpet on the tarmac, as a military flyover took place overhead.

They shook hands, posed for a photo, then both were driven away together in The Beast, Trump’s presidential limo, for their meeting at the Arctic Warrior Event Center.

Trump assistant Dan Scavino shared a video of the impressive flyover.

Other officials joining the meeting and business lunch with Trump and Putin will include Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

Crowds of Trump supporters were seen lining the streets in Anchorage, waving US flags and Trump flags.

President Trump spoke to reporters from aboard Air Force One, as they were en route to Alaska.

“I want to see a ceasefire — rapidly. I don’t know if it’s going to be today, but I’m not going to be happy if it’s not today… I’m in this to stop the killing,” Trump declared.

Trump also sat down for an interview with Fox News host Bret Baier.

“You don’t like to have too many expectations,” Trump said, noting that he’s been doing ‘deals’ his whole life. “I won’t be happy if I walk away without some form of a ceasefire,” he added.

“This is really setting the table today,” he explained. “We’re going to have another meeting if things work out… or we’re not going to have any more meetings at all — maybe ever.”

Hours before traveling to Alaska, Putin made a rare public appearance at a monument honoring U.S. cooperation during WWII.
