Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy touted over the weekend, “I believe that Ukraine has a strong enough partnership with the United States of America” to keep aid flowing, and boasted that a deal to end the war between Ukraine and Russia “is still very, very far away.”
However, Zelenskyy just received some bad news.
Fox News announced Monday evening that the Trump administration is pausing all aid to Ukraine, including weapons in transit or in Poland.
The Wall Street Journal also reported Monday evening:
The Trump administration has stopped financing new weapons sales to Ukraine and is considering freezing weapons shipments from U.S. stockpiles, moves that threaten Kyiv’s ability to fight at a critical time in its battle against Russian forces, current and former U.S. officials said.
The financing was halted in recent weeks amid the administration’s freeze on foreign aid. But the move to potentially shut down the main pipeline for arms transfers to Ukraine comes days after a contentious meeting between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House. The tense exchange Friday raised fears across Europe that the U.S. could be moving away from the wider Western alliance.

Fox correspondent Lucas Tomlinson confirmed the report, writing on X:
BREAKING: The United States is pausing all U.S. military aid to Ukraine until President Trump determines the Ukrainians show a commitment to good faith peace negotiations, a senior Trump administration official tells Fox News.
“This is not permanent termination of aid, it’s a pause,” the official emphasized. “The orders are going out right now.”
The official said this is in response to Ukrainian President Zelensky’s conduct over the last week.

President Trump dropped a hint earlier on Monday that there may be consequences against Zelenskyy:
