From Fox News: The Justice Department released a chilling letter written by would-be Trump assassin Ryan Wesley Routh on Monday.

The DOJ obtained the letter from a witness who says they received it inside a box delivered to them by Routh several months prior to the assassination attempt. Authorities say the witness opened the box only after hearing Routh was suspected in the attack.

The box contained several handwritten letters as well as ammunition, among other things. One of the letters, addressed “Dear World,” discussed the assassination attempt.

“This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I failed you. I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster. It is up to you now to finish the job; and I will offer $150,000 to whomever can complete the job,” Routh wrote.

“Everyone across the globe from the youngest to the oldest know that Trump is unfit to be anything, much less a U.S. president,” the letter continues. “U.S. presidents must at bare minimum embody the moral fabric that is America, and be kind, caring and selfless and always stand for humanity. Trump fails to understand any of [that].”

The box also contained four phones. One of the phones had a Google search of how to travel from Florida to Mexico.

Routh also left a handwritten list of dates and venues where Trump has or was expected to hold campaign rallies ahead of the 2024 election, during the months of August, September and October.

“The agents also found 12 pairs of gloves; a Hawaii Driver’s License in the Defendant’s name; a passport in the Defendant’s name,” the filing states.

In another chilling reveal, investigators say they also found a book Routh had authored in 2023 in which he encourages Iran to finish the job. The book is titled “Ukraine’s Unwinnable War: The Fatal Flaw of Democracy, World Abandonment and the Global Citizen-Taiwan, Afghanistan, North Korea, WWIII and the End of Humanity.”

The DOJ announced: “In the book, ROUTH stated that he ‘must take part of the blame for the [person] that we elected for our next president that ended up being brainless, but I am man enough to say that I misjudged and made a terrible mistake and Iran, I apologize. You are free to assassinate Trump as well as me for that error in judgment and the dismantling of the deal.'”

CBS News journalist Scott MacFarlane posted a copy of the letter and other details on social media:

NEW: Seeking to get Ryan Routh held in pretrial jail, in alleged assassination attempt against Trump in Florida last weekend, Justice Dept alleges this letter by Routh was discovered last week.

“This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I failed you. I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster. It is up to you now to finish the job; and I will offer $150,000 to whomever can complete the job.”

The Justice Dept says the FBI located a semiautomatic rifle w/ scope near where Routh was hiding near Trump golf course.

Feds: “The rifle was loaded with a total of 11 rounds and had a round in the chamber. The serial number on the rifle was obliterated and unreadable.”

Justice Dept court filing includes image of gun. And a backpack containing plates capable of “stopping small arms fire.”

Feds say when police stopped Routh in his Nissan last Sunday, the car had false license plates & “FBI agents found 2 additional license plates. The agents also found 6 cellphones. One of the cell phones contained a Google search of how to travel from Palm Beach County to Mexico.”

Donald Trump Jr. reacted in fury to MacFarlane’s post. “WTF!? Why is Kamala’s DOJ publicizing Ryan Wesley Routh putting a bounty on my dad’s head???” he wrote.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) slammed the DOJ for releasing the letter. She wrote, “The DOJ released a letter written by Ryan Wesley Routh offering $150,000 to anyone who could ‘finish the job’ on President Trump. The DOJ, which is trying to put Trump in prison, is now offering a bounty on Trump’s head by releasing this. Why else would they release this?”

Journalist Kyle Becker is asking the same question. “Why would the DOJ release a letter from Ryan Routh where he put a BOUNTY on Donald Trump’s head? Just that one letter. A bounty. On President Trump. 🤔,” he wrote.

And Natalie Winters is asking how a man who was just begging for financial help two years ago would be able to offer a $150,000 bounty?
