Daniel Park, the 32-year-old suspect in the Palm Springs fertility clinic bombing, has died in federal custody, the Bureau of Prisons announced Tuesday.
He was found unresponsive at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles and later pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of death is unknown. The FBI and U.S. Marshals have been notified, and no other individuals were harmed.
Park, a U.S. citizen, was indicted for allegedly aiding in the May 17 bombing outside the American Reproductive Centers fertility clinic. He was accused of shipping 180 pounds of ammonium nitrate to the suspected bomber, 25-year-old Guy Bartkus, who died in the explosion.
Park was arrested in Poland after fleeing to Warsaw and was transferred to the L.A. detention center on June 13.
