BREAKING: Schumer says his offices have been hit with bomb threats

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) announced Monday afternoon that three of his New York Offices received bomb threats in an email message, and he’s blaming it on MAGA supporters.

In a post on X, Schumer wrote:

This morning, I was informed by law enforcement entities throughout New York of multiple bomb threats that were made at my offices in Rochester, Binghamton, and Long Island with the email subject line “MAGA” and from an email address alleging the “2020 election was rigged.”

Local and federal law enforcement responded immediately and are conducting full security sweeps. Everyone is safe, and I am grateful for their quick and professional response to ensure these offices remain safe and secure for all New Yorkers.

As I have said many times, these kinds of violent threats have absolutely no place in our political system. No one—no public servant, no staff member, no constituent, no citizen—should ever be targeted for simply doing their job.

However, Schumer himself has made multiple threatening statements.

In 2017, Schumer suggested that the intelligence community will do something to President Donald Trump.

While speaking at a pro-abortion rally on March 4, 2020, Schumer suggested two conservative Supreme Court Justices should be hit with violence. He was responding to the Supreme Court striking down Roe v. Wade.

“I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price,” Schumer raged, adding, “You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

X users are not buying Schumer’s claims that the threat was sent by the MAGA community, and some are mockingly calling him a “Jussie Smollett.”

New York Attorney General Letitia James, a Democrat, consoled Schumer, writing, “I’m relieved @SenSchumer’s staff is safe after these bomb threats this morning. Political violence, in any form, is never acceptable in New York or any corner of this nation.”
