NBC Today host Savannah Guthrie posted a new video message on her Instagram page Monday afternoon, pleading for help from the public in the disappearance of her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie.
The elder Guthrie disappeared from her Tucson, Arizona home around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 1, and is believed to have been abducted. A ransom demand has been made for $6 million in bitcoin, and the Monday 5:00 p.m. deadline is now just hours away.
In a video message Monday afternoon, Savannah said law enforcement is working around the clock trying to find her mother, and thanked the public for their prayers and support.
“We believe our mom is still out there, and we need your help,” Guthrie said, urging people to report even the smallest clue if they have any information or saw or heard anything, to please notify law enforcement.
“We are at an hour of desperation,” she said.
