BREAKING: Rubio makes HUGE announcement on non-citizen truck drivers

9

Well, that sure didn’t take long! Secretary of State Marco Rubio has just brought the practice of work visas being issued to non-citizen truck drivers to a screeching halt.

Outrage erupted after an illegal alien truck driver caused a horrific crash on a Florida interstate last week that killed 3 people. Harjinder Singh from India snuck across the border into the U.S. in 2018.  After the Biden administration gave Singh a work permit in 2021, he was then able to obtain a commercial driver’s license from both California and Washington.

It has since been revealed that Singh could not even speak English or understand highway traffic signs.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy had already been sounding the alarm over the shocking number of work visas the Biden administration had issued to illegal aliens, who were then given CDL licenses and allowed to drive semi-trucks all over the nation.

Sec. Duffy had also warned that these non-citizen truck drivers were not being required to pass an English proficiency test, and had signed an order in May announcing new guidance to enforce English proficiency requirement for truckers.  Also, in June, Duffy announced a nationwide audit into state practices in issuing non-domiciled CDLs.

Meanwhile, thousands of illegal alien truck drivers are transporting freight on the nation’s highways, many courtesy of the Biden administration.

In a post on X Thursday evening, Rubio announced:

Effective immediately we are pausing all issuance of worker visas for commercial truck drivers. The increasing number of foreign drivers operating large tractor-trailer trucks on U.S. roads is endangering American lives and undercutting the livelihoods of American truckers.

Responses are pouring in on social media, praising Rubio’s order:

The Alabama Trucking Association released the following statement:

“This is another important action by President Trump to ensure the safety and fairness of Americas trucking industry. In Alabama, the Alabama Trucking Association has been working diligently on this issue and many others with our federal delegation, the Governor’s office, and law enforcement, and we will continue to advocate for the highest standards for safety and security in transportation that will create a level playing field for Alabama’s hard-working trucking professionals.

“As we said following the President’s Executive Order enforcing the English Language Proficiency standards, there are additional issues that need to be addressed urgently to ensure highway safety and prevent bad actors from operating. One major issue involves cross-border visa drivers overstaying their allowances and hauling domestic freight, which is already illegal. Another pressing concern is the need to address fraudulent or non-compliant CDL training providers who do not uphold existing entry level training standards. These training providers must be not be allowed to operate. Additionally, stricter measures are required to combat the fraudulent use of USDOT numbers and the manipulation of motor carrier (MC) numbers. These tactics enable bad actors and cargo thieves to operate by acquiring legitimate MC numbers to carry out their schemes. It’s not only a safety issue, it’s a national security issue.”

John Konrad V wrote, “Has it gotten worse or am I just noticing it? Today in Hartford a tractor trailer stopped at a red, paused like it was a stop sign, then rolled right through. A minivan nearly t-boned him. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a truck just completely blow a red light before.”
