President Donald Trump was nearing the end of an extremely interesting roundtable discussion with independent journalists on the threats related to the Antifa terror organization Wednesday afternoon, when Secretary of State Marco Rubio suddenly walked in and broke some big news.
Rubio took his seat, then passed a note to the president. He then got up and whispered something into Trump’s ear.
Trump then explained, “I’ve been given a note by the Secretary of State saying we are VERY close to a deal in the Middle East! They will need me pretty quickly, so I can take a couple more questions.”
At the time the roundtable discussion was going on, another important meeting was taking place in the Middle East, as White House Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, were in Egypt trying to negotiate a peace deal between Hamas and Israel.
It appears Rubio notified Trump that the talks were successful.

A photographer in the room snapped a photo, and the contents of Rubio’s note has already been revealed.
According to Associated Press reporter Meg Kinnard, Rubio’s note read, “You need to approve a Truth Social post soon so you can announce deal first.”

Moments later, Trump said a Middle East peace deal was “very close.”

President Trump wrapped up the meeting soon after, and he and Rubio left the room. A Truth Social post has not yet been released, as of this report.

The presence of Kushner — who has largely stayed out of Trump’s White House during the president’s second term and holds no official role in the administration after previously serving as a senior advisor to Trump — signifies that the U.S. is “serious” about securing a deal between Hamas and Israel, bringing an end to the two-year war and returning all 48 hostages.
A White House official told Fox News Digital that Kushner, a “major architect of the Abraham Accords,” is an “extremely trusted voice on Middle East policy” and has been in contact with Witkoff throughout the Israel-Hamas negotiations over the last year.
