From Fox 29: Emergency officials are responding to reports of a plane crash in Northeast Philadelphia late Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred Friday evening around 6 p.m., near Cottman Avenue and Bustleton Avenue.
Witnesses reported multiple cars were on fire after the plane went down while neighbors nearby heard loud explosions.
Police have stated that the plane which crashed was a small aircraft, believed to be a medical air ambulance, with six people on board. All were reportedly killed.
It is unknown whether others on the ground were injured or killed.
Speculation is being voiced that the crashed may have potentially caused additional explosions, due to gas lines being hit. Others are pointing out that since the plane had just left the airport, it would have been loaded with fuel.

The plane reportedly crashed into a row of houses, near the Roosevelt Mall. One video posted on social media shows people screaming in fear.
