Footage from the scene showed event goers screaming as shots rang out on Wednesday.
People at the event took to social media to share details of the moment someone opened fire at the conservative’s event.
Mere minutes before the reports of shots being fired, Kirk had posted on X: ‘”WE. ARE. SO. BACK,” Kirk wrote. “Utah Valley University is FIRED UP and READY for the first stop back on the American Comeback Tour.”
