BREAKING: Merrick Garland, Chris Wray signed off on ‘Arctic Frost’ probe that targeted GOP groups, ‘spied’ on senators

From the New York Post: Top Biden administration officials personally signed off on an FBI investigation that would go on to target nearly 100 Republican-linked groups or entities — and may have even “spied” on members of Congress.

Former Attorney General Merrick Garland, Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco and FBI Director Christopher Wray’s signatures all appear on an April 4, 2022, document authorizing the bureau’s “Arctic Frost” probe that was released Thursday by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).

Grassley accused the Biden administration of having “unleashed unchecked govt power at the highest levels” in a bombshell X post on the disclosures before vowing: “My oversight will continue.”

The FBI’s Washington Field Office requested the senior officials’ authorization before looking into “an apparent effort to obstruct Congress’ certification of the Electoral College” and “fraudulent certificates of electors’ votes were submitted to the Archivist of the United States, purporting to represent the actual elector votes from the states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin,” the files show.

Grassley announced, “Just received this doc from DOJ Proof that Biden Atty General Merrick Garland+ Deputy Atty General Lisa Monaco+ FBI Dir Chris Wray all PERSONALLY APPROVED opening Arctic Frost.

“This investigation unleashed unchecked government power at the highest levels. My oversight will continue,” he added.

DOJ Civil Rights Division attorney Harmeet Dhillon responded to Grassley’s announcement, writing, “All the phonies clutching their pearls about the sanctity of @TheJusticeDept prior to this administration, can just sit down and shut up now that the sheer Constitutional carnage wrought by the Biden DOJ has been exposed. Hard to believe Merrick Garland was almost on SCOTUS!”

Attorney Mike Davis also voiced his fury, writing, “Challenging an election is not a crime. Only in third-world hellholes is that a crime. The Electoral Count Act of 1887 specifically allows challenging presidential elections.

“This is why Democrats didn’t go to jail for challenging their losses in 1968, 2000, 2004, and 2016.

“Yet the Biden Justice Department pretended Trump’s 2020 election challenge was a crime. Then used that as a pretext to spy on and prosecute political enemies. This is a blatant criminal conspiracy against rights under 18 U.S.C. § 241. It’s time to put Merrick Garland, Lisa Monaco, Chris Wray, Jack Smith, and so many others before a grand jury.”

Earlier this month it was revealed that former Special Counsel Jack Smith was tracking the private communications and phone calls of nine Republican Senators, along with every Republican member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, as part of his investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots.

Republicans have reacted in outrage over the spying operation that was conducted on their private phone communications by the Biden administration.

Smith and his team tracking the Republican senators were reportedly able to obtain the phone records in 2023 by subpoenaing major telephone providers.

According to one FBI official, Smith and his team were able to see which phone numbers they called, the location the phone call originated and the location where it was received.
