From the Daily Mail: A hardline socialist who’s favorite to be the next mayor of New York City has admitted lying about a Muslim aunt he claimed was too scared to ride the subway after 9/11.
Zohran Mamdani said Monday that he was actually referring to one of his father’s distant dead cousins, a woman called Zehra Fuhi.
Mamdani, 33, made the revelation at a press conference Monday as he sought to get ahead of a scandal that threatens to sink his chances ahead of the November 4 mayoral election.
‘I was speaking about about Zehra fuhi, my father’s cousin, who passed away a few years ago.’ Fuhi stands for paternal aunt in Urdu and Hindi.
Last week, the lawmaker fought back tears as he told of how the September 2001 terror atrocity had left an aunt who wears a hijab too scared to use public transport in New York City.
Mamdani used the story to try to claim that ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo and other New Yorkers were guilty of “Islamophobia,” after he has been called out over his anti-Israel views.
Feigning emotion, Mamdani said last week, “I want to speak to the memory of my aunt, who stopped taking the subway after September 11 because she did not feel safe in her hijab.”
Zohran through tears: “My aunt stopped taking the subway after 9/11 because she did not feel safe in her hijab.”
Yes, she was the real victim of 9/11

On Monday, Mamdani admitted the woman was actually his father’s cousin, but STILL kept referring to her as his “aunt.” He scolded the media for dismissing his 10-minute speech about Islamophobia and instead zoning in on his statement about his “aunt”.

Mamdani has been blasted for trying to claim his aunt was the real victim of 9/11.
The families of many 9/11 victims condemned Mamdani for suggesting his “aunt” suffered after 9/11.
Vice President JD Vance also wrote, “According to Zohran the real victim of 9/11 was his auntie who got some (allegedly) bad looks.”
Jon Gabriel fired back at Mamdani, writing, “2,976 people stopped taking the subway after 9/11 because they were murdered.”
“Yes,” agreed Elon Musk.

Internet sleuths soon figured out Mamdani didn’t even have an aunt living in the U.S. at the time of the 9/11 terror attack.
X user ‘The Persian Jewess’ wrote, “Zohran Mamdani’s aunt neither wears a hijab nor lived in NYC before, during, or after 9/11. In fact, she lived in Tanzania from January 2000 to December 2003. 🤔.”

It’s now been exposed that the so-called “aunt” Zohran Mamdani wept over in his political theater — claiming she stopped riding the subway after 9/11 because she feared for her life wearing a hijab — never even lived in New York, and never wore a hijab. At the time, she was in Tanzania.
This wasn’t a misunderstanding. It was a fabrication — a calculated manipulation of truth. And it came from a man who built his career on falsehoods. He lied. He deceived. He disrespected every New Yorker who actually lived that pain.
If integrity still matters — if truth still counts — then silence is complicity. Shame on anyone who won’t vote him out. Stand up. Speak out. Vote early. Vote CUOMO.

Mamdani posted a defiant video statement on X Friday, claiming he and other Muslims have endured hatred and bigotry over their Muslim faith.
The dream of every Muslim is simply to be treated the same as any other New Yorker.
And yet, for too long, we have been told to ask for less than that, and endure hatred and bigotry in the shadows.
No more. pic.twitter.com/B7BWrifQ1f

READ MORE from the Daily Mail.
Fox News posted an extensive report on Monday, and revealed that he teamed up with Muslim activist Linda Sarsour in 2018 – the same year he became a U.S. citizen – and joined an effort to “help build Muslim power.”
The report states:
In 2018, Mamdani formally entered Sarsour’s orbit through the Muslim Democratic Club of New York, an organization she co-founded in 2013 to mobilize Muslim voters and elect progressive Democrats to local office. The Muslim Democratic Club of New York served as both incubator and amplifier for Sarsour’s political brand, one that fused progressive politics with an explicitly Islamist social identity. By December 2018, Mamdani joined the board, in an announcement in which the group said, “Help build Muslim power across the city with us!”
