From Fox News: A federal judge cleared the way for the release of the special counsel report on President-elect Trump’s election interference case on Monday.
Judge Aileen Cannon approved the release of the first of two volumes of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation in her Monday ruling. Cannon will consider releasing the second volume, which relates to Trump’s handling of classified documents, on Friday.
Smith suspended his investigations into Trump after the president-elect secured his return to the White House in November.
Cannon had issued a temporary block on releasing Smith’s reports last week after Trump co-defendants Waltine Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira filed an emergency motion to block the reported imminent release of Smith’s final report.
Cannon blocked the release of the report as she considered Nauta and De Oliveira’s claims, but ultimately ruled against them on Monday, saying there was “insufficient basis” to block the release of the report.

Smith resigned from the Justice Department effective Friday, January 10.
Early Sunday morning, Trump ripped into Smith in a Truth Social post, writing, “The Stench of Deranged Jack Smith and his thugs is GONE. They were sent packing after spending over $100,000,000, destroying the lives of many people and families, who will never be the same again. Deranged Jack accomplished nothing, except to show what complete losers my political opponents are!!!”

In another post Sunday afternoon, Trump wrote, “Why would Deranged Jack Smith be allowed to issue a “report” on a complete and total Witch Hunt against me, strictly for political purposes, when he was thrown off the case and ultimately dismissed by the DOJ.
“Therefore, to put it nicely, he was illegitimately involved in this political persecution, and all of the hundreds of millions of dollars spent by our hapless government were, simply put, wasted! He has already filled thousands of rejected statements and documents against me, which were a “joke,” and the public just voted for me, in a landslide, to be their President!
