Iran has begun a ballistic missile attack on Israel, as Israel’s iron dome is working to intercept them in the sky.

From the Associated PressThe Israeli military said Tuesday that Iran has fired missiles at Israel, and air raid sirens sounded across the country as residents were ordered to remain close to bomb shelters.

Israel and the United States have warned there would be severe consequences if Iran attacks.

The orders to shelter in place were sent to Israelis’ mobile phones and announced on national television. TV stations reported sirens in parts of Jerusalem as well as central Israel.

The alerts were sounded after a day of rocket and missile attacks from Lebanon, and as Israel said it had begun limited ground operations in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli Defense Forces released the following statement:  “A short while ago, missiles were launched from Iran towards the State of Israel. In the last few minutes, the Home Front Command has distributed life-saving instructions in various areas across the country. The public is asked to adhere to the Home Front Command’s guidelines. Upon hearing a siren, you must enter a protected space and remain there until further notice.”

Fox News correspondent Trey Yingst posted a video statement as the missile attack was taking place.  Yingst said in a news broadcast that Iran fired off at least 100 missiles in the first wave of the attack.

Yingst said in an update that Hezbollah is also firing rockets into northern Israel.

The IDF announced, “All Israeli civilians are in bomb shelters as rockets from Iran are fired at Israel.”

Another alert from the IDF showed the entire nation of Israel under attack.

Yingst posted a second video with an update as a second wave of missiles began raining down on Israel.

Video footage of ballistic missiles fired upon Israel is being posted to social media.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham wrote, “Iran and Israel are about to go to war and nobody has any idea who the sitting US President is. Wild times.”

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin released the following statement:

Today, I spoke with Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant today to discuss the threat of an imminent Iranian attack against Israel. I shared that over recent days the United States has increased force readiness and continues to maintain significant military capability in the region. I made it clear that the United States is well-postured to defend U.S. personnel, allies, and partners in the face of threats from Iran and Iran-backed terrorist organizations and is determined to prevent any actor from exploiting tensions or expanding the conflict in the region.

We discussed the severe consequences for Iran in the event Iran chooses to launch a direct military attack against Israel.
