BREAKING NEWS: The man considered to be the mastermind behind the deadly Hamas massacre in Israel on October 7 of last year is now dead, Israel officials have announced.
From the Wall Street Journal: Israel on Thursday said it had killed Hamas’s leader, Yahya Sinwar, in southern Gaza.
Three militants were killed during operations in a building in the strip on Wednesday, the Israeli military said. Sinwar’s death was confirmed following forensic identification tests, it added.
Sinwar, a U.S.-designated terrorist, triggered a war with Israel in Gaza in October 2023 that has since expanded to a multifront conflict in the Middle East. His death marks the severest blow yet to Hamas in more than a year of war.
The killing of Israel’s most wanted militant is also a major win for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who vowed to destroy Hamas’s leadership and military capabilities in the Gaza Strip.
About 1,200 people were slaughtered in Israel on October 7, 2023, as Hamas terrorists invaded the country. They took another 250 people hostage, of which an estimated 100 are still being held in captivity in Gaza.
Sinwar, 61, is widely considered to be the mastermind behind the deadly Oct. 7 massacre.
More details from Fox News on the battle that took out Sinwar:
An Israel Army Radio report said Thursday that Sinwar was killed during a battle with Israeli soldiers.
The soldiers had spotted suspected terrorists in Gaza and opened fire before the individuals fled into a building, according to the report. It added that a tank then fired a shell at the building, causing it to collapse.
When the soldiers went inside to examine the aftermath, they found three bodies – one of which ultimately has been identified as Sinwar.
The Israel Defense Forces first announced earlier on Thursday, “During IDF operations in Gaza, 3 terrorists were eliminated. The IDF and ISA are checking the possibility that one of the terrorists was Yahya Sinwar. At this stage, the identity of the terrorists cannot be confirmed.”
“In the building where the terrorists were eliminated, there were no signs of the presence of hostages in the area. The forces that are operating in the area are continuing to operate with the required caution.”

The Israeli government announced: “A year ago on the holiday of Sukkot, Yahya Sinwar orchestrated the horrific October 7th Massacre in which more than 1,200 Israeli men, women and children were butchered. Today, one year later, he was eliminated by Israeli forces. Justice has been delivered. Every single terrorist who harms Israelis will pay the price.”

Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar is dead.

U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) released the following statement:
My statement on the IDF eliminating the leader of Hamas, Yahya Sinwar:
Justice has once again been served by the brave men and women of the Israeli military. Yahya Sinwar, the vile, disgusting person who orchestrated the October 7th massacre, is dead. Sinwar’s life was the embodiment of evil and marked by hatred for all that is good in the world. His death brings hope for all those who seek to live in freedom, and relief to Israelis he has sought to oppress.
Let this be a reminder to Hamas and all those who were involved in the October 7th attacks: you may try to terrorize and intimidate, but those who live under the banner of freedom will never surrender. The eternal flame of liberty and the faith of the Jewish people will never be snuffed out by the darkness of barbarism and the cruelty of antisemitism.
Still, the death of this man is not the end of Israel’s fight for survival. At this moment, with the bloodthirsty leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah now gone, the Biden-Harris Administration must now work in tandem with Israel to apply a maximum pressure campaign against the head of the snake: Iran. Despite the Biden-Harris Administration condemning his strategies, Prime Minister Netanyahu has produced multiple watershed victories for Israel such that we are on the precipice of a new day of security and freedom in the Middle East. We cannot let this moment go to waste.
May God bless Israel, and may God bless America.

Terrorism researcher Khaled Hassan pointed out that Sinwar was killed in Rafah – the city where Americans, including Kamala Harris, had declared Israel should not go:
Where was Sinwar killed? Rafah. Yes, it’s where the Americans, Egyptians, British, French……and the beautiful, brilliant Kamala Harris said Israel shouldn’t go because “she studied the maps”.
We said Israel needs to take Rafah. Israeli officials/experts said they need to take Rafah. The choice is, and always has been clear, believe us or spineless, inept politicians who would probably do nothing for you if you were kidnapped/killed by terrorists.

Praise is going to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
This man has just shown the world and in a crystal-clear manner that Israel will find them all and will no longer remain silent against its wicked enemies.
In less than a month, both Hassan Nasrallah and Yahya Sinwar were sent to hell.
