An attorney for Ian Roberts, the disgraced superintendent of the Des Moines public schools who has been outed as an illegal alien from Guyana, announced in a press briefing Tuesday that Roberts will be submitting his resignation.
This comes after the school board has placed him on PAID administrative leave from his $305,000 a year job, where he has worked since July 2023.
Roberts’ attorney said Tuesday, “We will today, be sending a letter to the Des Moines school board, authorized by Dr. Roberts, to resign his position as a superintend at Des Moines Public School.”
On Sunday, the State of Iowa sent a letter to Roberts, announcing that since he is not a legal resident of the United States, the state has REVOKED his Iowa Board of Education license, and he is no longer eligible to serve as a school superintendent.

Civil liberties attorney Laura Powell shared the following:
.@WHO13news ran two stories on an interview they did with Ian Roberts last year. Today they changed both of them.
In one, they originally said he was born in Brooklyn, but now it says, “he did not confirm where he was born when asked.”
In the other—which does not indicate that it has been updated since its initial publication—they changed his place of graduation from Brooklyn to Guyana.
Those are not small errors. If you are the subject of an interview and there are major factual errors, it’s incumbent on you to request a correction. Here, none was made until this story blew up.

Townhall columnist Dustin Grage broke the news on Monday that Roberts has been registered to vote in Maryland, as a Democrat, since 2012.

Illegal aliens should never be able to vote in American elections.
It’s common sense. https://t.co/7wh4LBYjY6

The Maryland State Board of Elections has confirmed that Ian Roberts last voted in an election on April 2, 2025, despite that he was not a U.S. citizen, and had been issued a final order of deportation in 2024.
