Hilton Hotels first announced they were investigating a situation with one of their hotels in the Minneapolis area who cancelled reservations of ICE agents. Hilton said the hotel manager had apologized and had taken immediate actions to resolve the matter.
However, Hilton announced in a new update Tuesday morning that they have now CANCELLED their franchise agreement with that same hotel, after independent journalist Nick Sortor checked them out, and the hotel once again refused to provide rooms for ICE agents.
The statement reads:
“The independent hotel owner had assured us that they had fixed this problem and published a message confirming this. A recent video clearly raises concerns that they are not meeting our standards and values.
“As such, we are taking immediate action to remove this hotel from our systems Hilton is – and has always been – a welcoming place for all. We are also engaging with all of our franchisees to reinforce the standards we hold them to across our system to help ensure thie does not happen again.”

Below is Nick Sortor’s video, which prompted Hilton to cancel the hotel’s franchise.
REPORTS say Hilton has now removed its name from the franchised hotel, disconnecting its brand from the franchisee who would not provide rooms to DHS. This video did them in.
