BREAKING: GOP lawmakers release thousands of files related to Jeffrey Epstein

From The Hill: Republicans on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee released 20,000 pages of documents from the estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on Wednesday, hours after Democrats on the committee released emails in which the disgraced financier alleged that President Trump “knew about the girls.”

Earlier Wednesday, Democrats on the committee released three emails invoking President Trump in correspondence between the late Epstein and his accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, as well as author Michael Wolff.

The newly released files include spreadsheets, images of books relevant to Epstein’s case and correspondence between him and various associates.

The committee, chaired by Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) said on the social platform X Wednesday that “Democrats whine about ‘releasing the files,’ but they only cherry-pick when they have them to generate clickbait. You deserve the full truth.”

Republicans first slammed Democrats for redacting the name of Epstein victim Virginia Giuffree, noting that she has already stated that President Trump did nothing wrong.

“Why did Democrats cover up the name when the Estate didn’t redact it in the redacted documents provided to the committee? It’s because this victim, Virginia Giuffre, publicly said that she never witnessed wrongdoing by President Trump,” Republicans declared. “Democrats are trying to create a fake narrative to slander President Trump. Shame on them.”

The Oversight Committee then released the huge trove of over 23,000 documents, and wrote, “Democrats whine about “releasing the files,” but they only cherry-pick when they have them to generate clickbait. You deserve the full truth.”

The documents were reportedly obtained by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, through a subpoena back in August.

It is still unclear why this wasn’t released until Wednesday morning, when there have been repeated calls from both sides of the aisle for the documents to be released.

The Oversight Committee then called out Democrats for claiming that “the sheer volume of the files released on Wednesday was intended to disorient.”

“They don’t care about victims—it’s all hypocrisy for political gain,” Republicans declared.

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) fumed, “I AM SO SICK OF THE FAKE NEWS FOCUSING ON TRUMP AND NOT EPSTEIN VICTIMS! Everyone knows Trump kicked Epstein out of Mar A Lago and Epstein victims have exonerated the President! STOP GASLIGHTING AND START TELLING THE VICTIM’s STORIES!! Makes me sick. Those who abused underage girls need to see jail time – tell THAT story!”

“How pathetic that Democrats are using Epstein’s victims to bury headlines on their vote against reopening the government,” Mace added.

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) also commented on the drama, writing, “Today’s claims by @OversightDems are nothing more than an attempt to slander a sitting President simply because they disagree with his policies. The Left loves to hate President Trump.”

During a White House press briefing, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “These emails prove absolutely nothing other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong.”
