In a press conference Wednesday, officials released the identify of the shooter who opened fire at Apalachee High School, in Winder, Georgia Wednesday morning.
The shooter, Colt Gray, 14, a student at the school, will be charged with murder and tried as an adult, Chris Hosey, the director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, announced.
Four people were killed – two teachers and two students – in the shooting. Nine others are hospitalized with “various injuries.”
Law enforcement officials have also revealed that Apalachee High School received a phone call Wednesday morning warning that there would be shootings at five schools and that Apalachee would be the first.

An armed school resource officer put an end to the massacre. Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith told reporters that the shooter was confronted by an armed School Resource Officer, and he quickly gave up and was taken into custody without further incident.
