FBI Director Kash Patel announced in a post on X Wednesday afternoon that the mass shooting at a Minneapolis Catholic church, committed by a transgender person, is being investigated as a domestic terror attack and a hate crime.
The gunman in Wednesday’s mass shooting has been identified as Robin Westman, 23. Westman, a biological male who identified as female, changed his name from Robert to Robin when he was 17 years old, according to a court filing dated January 15, 2020. Since he was still a minor, his parents signed off on the name change.
Messages scrawled on the weapons the shooter displays in now-scrubbed video footage read: “Where is your God?”, “Fuck Optics,” and “Kill Trump Now!”
In a manifesto, Westman also included many anti-semitic messages, including “Free Palestine, and wrote, “If I will carry out a racially motivated attack, it would be most likely against filthy Zionist jews.”

Updates on the shooting in Minneapolis, Minnesota: The FBI is investigating this shooting as an act of domestic terrorism and hate crime targeting Catholics.
There were 2 fatalities, an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old. In addition, 14 children and 3 adults were injured.
The shooter has been identified as Robin Westman, a male born as Robert Westman.
