Tesla owner Elon Musk has responded after a Tesla Cybertruck pulled up in front of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas Wednesday morning, and then exploded into a massive inferno.
The driver of the vehicle was killed, and seven other people standing outside the hotel were injured.
According to an ABC News report, the incident is now being investigated as a potential ‘act of terror.’
In multiple statements, Musk revealed that this does indeed appear to be a terror attack, as a bomb was being carried in the bed of the Cybertruck.

He also said it was rented from Turo – the same rental car program where the truck was rented from in the New Orleans terror attack that had happened just hours earlier.
“The whole Tesla senior team is investigating this matter right now. Will post more information as soon as we learn anything. We’ve never seen anything like this,” Musk first wrote in a post on X.

Later Musk provided the following update:
“We have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck and is unrelated to the vehicle itself. All vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion.”

In another post, Musk added, “Appears likely to be an act of terrorism. Both this Cybertruck and the F-150 suicide bomb in New Orleans were rented from Turo. Perhaps they are linked in some way.”
