From the Times of Israel: A 5.1-magnitude earthquake shook northern Iran, the US Geological Survey says, as Israel pounded the country with repeated waves of air strikes.
The quake, which Iran’s Tasnim news agency says measured 5.2, struck at a depth of 10 kilometers (six miles) some 37 kilometers (23 miles) southwest of the city of Semnan, the USGS says.
The earthquake is considered to be fairly shallow, but it was reportedly also felt in Tehran’s Qom region.

The incident has prompted mockery on social media, with several people suggesting that Someone from above is trying to send a message or help out Israel.
“God works in mysterious ways!” one X user joked.
“Work of the ‘GOOD LORD’ !!!! Israel may NOT need our help after all JS ~~🤷♀️,” another person wrote.
“God is not good playing around,” another X user quipped.
Ironically, earlier this week, President Trump was asked whether the U.S. would use their “bunker buster” bombs to destroy Iran’s FORDOW nuclear plant.
Trump noted that people are talking about it, and added, “But that doesn’t mean I’m going to do it at all.”
“Watch a random Earthquake take it out… lol,” one X user joked.
Now, a random earthquake has happened, although it didn’t take out FORDOW.
TRUMP: We’re the only ones with the Capabilities to Destroy FORDOW in Iran — “But that doesn’t mean I’m going to do it at all.”
