BREAKING: Chief Justice Roberts faces major backlash after he responds to calls for judge’s impeachment

U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts is pushing back against calls to impeach Obama-appointed Chief U.S. District Judge James Boasberg of the D.C. Circuit.

Outrage has erupted against Boasberg after he demanded that the Trump administration stop deportation flights headed toward Venezuela Saturday night, and order the planes to be turned around and brought back to the U.S. The judge is now fuming that his orders were not followed.

The planes were transferring 261 illegal alien criminals and gang members to El Salvador, where they are now incarcerated in the new ‘mega prison’ there.

President Donald Trump released a statement Tuesday morning blasting Boasberg and calling for him to be impeached.

Also on Tuesday, a Republican congressman formally filed articles of impeachment against the judge.

Now Supreme Court Justice John Roberts has condemned the effort, declaring impeachment isn’t the right process.

“For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision. The normal appellate review process exists for that purpose,” Roberts said in the statement, according to Fox News.

Justice Roberts is now getting lambasted on social media.

Sean Davis of The Federalist dropped a bombshell, revealing there is a REASON why Roberts is defending Boasberg.  He wrote:

“John Roberts personally placed James Boasberg on the FISA court that rubber-stamped illegal spy warrants against Donald Trump. In case you’re wondering why he’s setting his own credibility on fire to defend Boasberg from impeachment investigations.”

Free speech activist Philip Anderson wrote, “Chief Justice Roberts is a traitor and coward. He knows damn well that these judges are wrongfully abusing their power to control the Presidency. Americans voted for Donald Trump, not unelected power hungry far left judges.”

“As Justice Roberts well knows, impeachment is a constitutional right of the legislature,” declared Elon Musk.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich wrote: “If Chief Justice Roberts wants to minimize attacks on out of control appointed leftwing district court judges abusing their role and claiming to be able to overrule the elected President of the United States on management details that are clearly within his role as defined by the Constitution and the Federalist Papers then he should intervene and overrule these absurd power grabs. The Chief Justice can defend the Court by overruling bad judges before the Executive and Legislative Branches start acting against them. The burden is on the Chief Justice not the President.”

Sen. Mike Lee wrote: “Impeachment is a non-justiciable political question assigned by the Constitution to Congress—one of the two political branches of the U.S. government—and not to the courts. Frankly, I’m surprised that Chief Justice Roberts is publicly opining on such matters.”

Lawyer Rogan O’Handley wrote, “Chief Justice Roberts has put out a statement saying he opposes the impeachment of Federal judges that rule in favor of MS-13 cartel thugs. Someone should remind him that the Constitution allows for it and he should stay the hell out of the political process.”

General Mike Flynn wrote: “Then why does the impeachment process exist at all if the appeals process works so well? Chief Justice Roberts sir, you are so out of touch with the American people, you cannot see the forest through the trees. Wake up, but I sincerely doubt if your clerks will care a wit about what the American people believe. Trust in our American judicial system is practically non-existent.”

Rep. Chip Roy wrote, “Congress decided impeachment. Maybe CJ Roberts should focus on stopping purposeful leaks… or not inventing a tax out of thin air to unconstitutionally legislate healthcare…”

Attorney Mike Davis released the following statement:

“Dear Chief Justice John Roberts: For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is a political decision by Congress. An activist judge ordering planes to turn around during a national-security operation is not a “judicial decision.” That is a highly illegal and extremely dangerous sabotage of the presidency, which is an impeachable offense. Your statement is not an appropriate response. The normal impeachment process exists for that purpose.”
