From the Associated Press: President Joe Biden will address the nation from the Oval Office on Wednesday evening on his decision to drop his 2024 Democratic reelection bid.
Biden posted on X that he would speak “on what lies ahead” and how he will “finish the job for the American people.” He will speak at 8 p.m. ET.
The president is scheduled to return to the White House on Tuesday after isolating at his Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, home after being diagnosed last week with COVID-19.
This comes after Biden announced on Sunday that he was suspending his re-election campaign and endorsing Kamala Harris.
Multiple calls have since come for Biden to resign from office entirely, as many argue that he is not capable of fulfilling the remainder of his term.
“Tomorrow evening at 8 PM ET, I will address the nation from the Oval Office on what lies ahead, and how I will finish the job for the American people,” Biden said in his statement on Tuesday.

In another post Tuesday morning, Biden said in a cryptic statement, “We are the United States of America – there’s nothing we can’t do if we do it together. We just have to remember who we are. I’ve dedicated my presidency to proving that, and I’ll continue to do so today, tomorrow, and every day that I have the honor of being your president.”
